Ideas that remember each other.
LociOS is a cognitive operating system built on the method of loci. It keeps your ideas in connected rooms, reasons across all of them, and tells you when something old belongs to something new.
Resurfaced: 3 earlier ideas in 3 rooms
Notes get lost. Second brains only store.
Most note tools keep everything and understand nothing. An idea from five years ago sits in a folder while you start the same idea over, because nothing connected the two.
LociOS is built to behave like a brain, not a filing cabinet. It keeps the reasoning behind each idea, finds where ideas overlap, and speaks up when a pattern keeps coming back.
Five parts, in order.
Thought
The smallest unit. A single idea, captured as it arrives.
Artifact
A thought given structure, so it lasts and can be built on.
Relationship
A typed link between two ideas, with the reason for the link stored.
Locus
A room: a place in the palace where related ideas live. Rooms can nest.
Resurfacing
Bringing back relevant past knowledge without you searching for it.
What it looks like in year five.
You capture five project ideas over several months. Each feels separate. Each goes into its own room.
The ideas keep growing. Nothing in a normal notes app notices that they share a root.
You start a new idea. LociOS compares it with everything you have kept, and speaks up.
Why the name.
Loci
The method of loci is the memory palace: you remember things by placing them in rooms. LociOS gives every idea a room, and lets the rooms talk to each other.
Built after DatumLock
LociOS is a separate project from DatumLock. DatumLock locks decisions as canon so builds don't drift. It comes first, and LociOS will be built with it.
